Our original goal with this project was to increase ridership of public transportation through a human centered design and systems thinking approach. Although our initial prototypes were well received, we decided to refocus our efforts in response to Covid-19 given the tremendous impact its had on public transportation ridership (see before and after photos above).

Our goal is to provide recommendations and resources for public transportation companies that we have determined through conversations with previous and current public transportation riders. Many policy changes from public transportation companies are currently in response to CDC guidelines, or other local/state guidelines. The guidelines that we seek to provide are more focused on positive customer experience and customer impact.

We hope these guidelines can be helpful to public transportation companies looking for the opinions and feedback from real customers.
